 Throttle

Rear Throttle It was important to me to have rear controls for my F1. I want my buddies fly with me from the front seat. This means at minimum, the rear seat would need flight controls and a throttle. Duplicating the prop and mixture controls would be difficult, the throttle would be easy. It started with a rear throttle kit for an RV-8 ordered from Vans. I was able to use many of the parts. Below is a picture of the completed unit. It works well.
Below shows the Van's part on the right, and the new part (yellow) I made on the left. The lever, bearings etc. all came from the Van's kit.
In this photo, it's not shown, but I needed to add a rear support to the pivot bolt similar to the support incorporated into the Vans part. The hardest part of the project was locating the holes in the fuselage formers for the interconnect.
