LED NAV Lights

A guy names Bill Dube is making a nice kit for LED NAV lights. These are first LED NAV lights I ever heard of. The solid state elements generate very little heat, and last practically forever. These two lights draw a total of .3 amps from the ships electrical system. As the lights will never need changing, I hard wired them to the airplane. This will eliminate annoying intermittent connectors so I can count on the light illuminating every time I flick the switch. The kits comes will all parts needed and took about 2 hours to assemble. I needed a small soldering iron and some wire cutters to do the job. After they were assembled, I dipped the circuit boards in West System epoxy to provide a conformal coating. This coating seals out moisture to prevent corrosion etc. They will last a VERY long time! I plan on illuminating them at all times, day or night flight ops.
